Buying new

What ordering a Lagoon through us involves.

A new build is a twelve-to-eighteen month conversation, not a purchase. Here is roughly how it runs.

  • AllocationWe hold build slots with the yard. Securing one early is what protects your delivery date, particularly on a new model.
  • SpecificationLayout, cabin configuration, power generation, sail plan, electronics. We advise on what earns its place in the trade winds.
  • BuildThe hull is built in France. You get progress updates from us rather than chasing the yard.
  • Delivery and commissioningRig tuning, systems commissioning, sea trials and documentation, carried out here by the team who will service her.
  • HandoverTime aboard with our captain until you are genuinely comfortable taking her out yourselves.
  • The seasons afterWarranty administered locally, scheduled service, hurricane planning. The part that actually matters.

Worth asking

Should you buy new at all?

Not always — and we would rather tell you that now than after the deposit.

Buy new when…

You want a specific layout and option list; you intend to keep the yacht five years or more; you want full factory warranty from day one; or you want a hull of a model that simply has not reached the used market yet.

Buy pre-owned when…

You want to be on the water this season rather than next year; you are still learning what you want in a catamaran; or a two-year-old hull already carries the options you would have specified, at a materially better number.

We broker quality pre-owned catamarans as well as selling new. If the used boat is the better buy for you, we will say so.
