What "ready to sail" means
A new Lagoon ordered today is a boat you take delivery of in a future season. That is the right call for an owner who wants a specific layout, a specific finish and a specific set of options, and it is why most of our new-build clients wait.
It is the wrong call if you want to be on the water this season. A ready-to-sail boat is commissioned, in the water, lying in the USVI or BVI, and can be surveyed this month and sailing the next.
The trade you are making
- You get a known boat you can stand on, a season you do not lose, and a price that reflects a boat that already exists.
- You give up the configuration choices. Somebody else chose the layout, the electronics and the canvas.
- Check carefully whether she has been in charter, and what that means for hours, wear and the maintenance history. Charter is not a red flag on its own — well-run programmes maintain boats properly — but it changes what the survey should be looking for.
Availability moves weekly
This is not a category we can keep accurate in prose. What is genuinely ready changes as boats sell and as new stock is commissioned. The inventory page is live and is the only reliable answer.
